June 2018 Book Recommendations

About a year ago I posted my first reading list, a lengthy one, including all my favourite books. I am a total bookworm, a quality I inherited from my paternal grandmother who read several books a week throughout her life. I truly believe life is better when you have a good book on the go, it’s like Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. As I myself am always looking for my next read, I’d like to make book recommendations a mainstay on my blog. I have been pouring through books lately, so I have several recommendations, hopefully I can keep up my pace and be able to have a few recommendations every couple of month on here! Please feel free to leave your favourite books and recent good reads in the comments, I love for this to become a space to create recommendations for like-minded people with similar interests!

High Park Cherry Blossoms

We are currently experiencing peak cherry blossom season in Toronto.  We are lucky to have cherry trees all over our city and last year I went to visit the trees in Trinity Bellwoods (pictures from Bellwoods HERE).  I can’t believe that all these years I have never been to see the beautiful fairytale that is High Park during when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.  There is such a small window of time that the blossoms are present  and there is actually a webpage dedicated to tracking the High Park cherry blossoms and will tell you when peak bloom is!…

Luxury Fragrances for All Seasons

a woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future- Coco Chanel Fragrance is always my last step in getting ready and I would honestly feel incomplete without it.  I use it as a way to set the tone for that day.  For example the first really nice day of the year I always reach for Tom Ford, Soleil Blanc, or Miss Dior when I’m feeling fun and girly.  The olfactory area of the brain, where scents are decoded and understood is strongly linked to the part of the brain that stores emotional memories.  It is because of this that a…
