Luxury Fragrances for All Seasons

a woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future- Coco Chanel Fragrance is always my last step in getting ready and I would honestly feel incomplete without it.  I use it as a way to set the tone for that day.  For example the first really nice day of the year I always reach for Tom Ford, Soleil Blanc, or Miss Dior when I’m feeling fun and girly.  The olfactory area of the brain, where scents are decoded and understood is strongly linked to the part of the brain that stores emotional memories.  It is because of this that a…

Best of Toronto: Food, Coffee, Shopping & Beauty

I wanted to curate a list of my Toronto favourites for all things lifestyle, beauty, fashion, food etc.  I find these so helpful when I’m visiting a new city, or even when I’m looking for some inspiration myself in Toronto.  I am such a creature of habit so, as much as I like trying out new things, when I find something I like I am pretty loyal to what I have found works for me.  I hope if you are visiting Toronto, or are a Torontonian yourself you will take a chance to check out some of my options and…

Ballet Beautiful Review: Custom Workout

I was first introduced to Ballet Beautiful through some of her short videos on YouTube, some of which were taken from her DVDs.  I have since collected six of her eight DVDs (save for her prenatal collection) and have been relying on these as my exclusive source of exercise for the past five years.  Since early October of this year I have done a Ballet Beautiful workout at least six days a week and have been loving the results. (I have a DVD review here) For Christmas I received a new MacBook, which much to my dismay does not have…

Her Majesty’s Pleasure

I have walked by Her Majesty’s Pleasure on King countless times, and it has always caught my eye.  From the street you can see the white marble counters and clean aesthetic, with bottles of champagne along the bar.  I have always wondered exactly what it was though, because upon further inspection, one can see the rows of nail polish along the far wall.  While looking for a place for my cousin and I to go for manicures this summer I came across HMP and realized it’s actually a spa with multiple salon services.  Unfortunately they did not have room for…

My Skin Care Regime

I have very pale and sensitive skin.  My skin breaks out, but is also incredibly dry, so I have to be careful about how I take care of my skin.  When I was a baby I actually broke out on my skin, as it had a reaction to the new atmosphere outside my mother’s womb!  My grandmother actually covered my face with a blanket when she took me out in my stroller because of my baby acne!  The following is what I have found to work best for my skin type. Wash: Kate Sommerville I wash my face first thing in…
