June 2018 Book Recommendations

About a year ago I posted my first reading list, a lengthy one, including all my favourite books. I am a total bookworm, a quality I inherited from my paternal grandmother who read several books a week throughout her life. I truly believe life is better when you have a good book on the go, it’s like Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. As I myself am always looking for my next read, I’d like to make book recommendations a mainstay on my blog. I have been pouring through books lately, so I have several recommendations, hopefully I can keep up my pace and be able to have a few recommendations every couple of month on here! Please feel free to leave your favourite books and recent good reads in the comments, I love for this to become a space to create recommendations for like-minded people with similar interests!

High Park Cherry Blossoms

We are currently experiencing peak cherry blossom season in Toronto.  We are lucky to have cherry trees all over our city and last year I went to visit the trees in Trinity Bellwoods (pictures from Bellwoods HERE).  I can’t believe that all these years I have never been to see the beautiful fairytale that is High Park during when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.  There is such a small window of time that the blossoms are present  and there is actually a webpage dedicated to tracking the High Park cherry blossoms and will tell you when peak bloom is!…

Best of Toronto: Food, Coffee, Shopping & Beauty

I wanted to curate a list of my Toronto favourites for all things lifestyle, beauty, fashion, food etc.  I find these so helpful when I’m visiting a new city, or even when I’m looking for some inspiration myself in Toronto.  I am such a creature of habit so, as much as I like trying out new things, when I find something I like I am pretty loyal to what I have found works for me.  I hope if you are visiting Toronto, or are a Torontonian yourself you will take a chance to check out some of my options and…

The 15 Most Instagrammable Spots in NYC

It’s been a year to the week that my boyfriend David moved to New York City on a project.  With the current situation being that there is snow on the ground in April in Toronto it’s safe to say I am horribly nostalgic for New York City summer (something I have not been shy to wax poetically about on Instagram stories).  I fell absolutely head over heels for New York while flying back and forth all last summer and I am dying to go back.  As I don’t have any current travel plans to go there, I’ve decided to make…

How I Plan My Trips

The enjoyment I receive from travelling begins even before I set foot off an airplane in destination.  I have always been a bit of a dreamer and immerse myself on a daily basis into travel day dreaming.  When I plan a vacation somewhere, I want to get in as much as possible of that destination on my trip.  I have a long list of places I want to visit in my lifetime and I may not have the opportunity to revisit some destinations, so I want to be as thorough as possible.  I wanted to share with you today my…
