Café Cancan

It only takes a glance at my Instagram account to know that one of my favourite pass times is scoping out new cute restaurants, bars and cafes.  I have travelled all over the world and always make a point to find at least one Instagram worthy interior wherever I am.  This task is definitely easier to accomplish in some places (ie. NYC, or Paris) than others.  I am really excited to see that Toronto is beginning to become more photogenic with photo-shoot worthy spots popping up in different neighbourhoods around the city.  I believe I discovered Café Cancan through my…

Her Majesty’s Pleasure

I have walked by Her Majesty’s Pleasure on King countless times, and it has always caught my eye.  From the street you can see the white marble counters and clean aesthetic, with bottles of champagne along the bar.  I have always wondered exactly what it was though, because upon further inspection, one can see the rows of nail polish along the far wall.  While looking for a place for my cousin and I to go for manicures this summer I came across HMP and realized it’s actually a spa with multiple salon services.  Unfortunately they did not have room for…

Toronto’s Most Charming Cafés

I am one of those people who is absolutely useless before my morning cup of coffee.  It is one of my favourite things about the morning.  Such a comfort it is to have a hot cup of coffee in hand.  Especially when enjoyed inside a cute café & extra points if it comes in a beautifully designed mug.  I also love the culture around coffee.  Grabbing a cup with a friend, or hiding out in a café with other creative minds mid day.  My boyfriend and I will often grab coffee in the morning and then go for a walk…

Kitten & the Bear

Admittedly, I saw these beautiful Sloane takeaway cups on Instagram and this was my prime motivation to walk across the city to Parkdale.  I even went so far as to email Sloane Tea to ask them where in the city the cups could be found!  Being a downtown dweller, I’m not one to venture too far out of my box in Toronto: bordered by Bloor Street, Yonge Street and Ossington is the furthest west I usually desire to go.  So you know I really wanted one of these gorgeous cups if I was willing to walk all the way to…

Oretta

I have long complained of Toronto lacking in pretty restaurants.  Though not a huge foodie, I love going out for brunch, especially if the decor is charming and unique.  I have always been guilty of judging my books by their covers, I guess I’m just a visual person.  I first saw Oretta on Instagram, with the pink wall with gold accents and velvety blue booths.  It is gorgeous inside.  I actually realized where it was while David and I were out for brunch at Brioche Dorée across the street, as the two story tall pink walls can be seen from…
