Miami Look Book

Miami is known primarily for two things beautiful beaches & beautiful people “real sweet faces” as Will Smith once so eloquently put it. While for North-Easterner’s such as myself it’s the perfect vacation getaway- given our proximity, it’s also a nerve wracking endeavour to always be looking your best while on vacation. It’s a city which is truly all about what you’re wearing, where you’re going & who you’ll be seen there with. I’ve been travelling to Miami my entire life & I feel pretty well acquainted with the vibe in America’s favourite party city. While I was there for two weeks in Febuary, I curated a look book of sorts for those of you travelling to the beach for the first time.

The 15 Most Instagrammable Spots in NYC

It’s been a year to the week that my boyfriend David moved to New York City on a project.  With the current situation being that there is snow on the ground in April in Toronto it’s safe to say I am horribly nostalgic for New York City summer (something I have not been shy to wax poetically about on Instagram stories).  I fell absolutely head over heels for New York while flying back and forth all last summer and I am dying to go back.  As I don’t have any current travel plans to go there, I’ve decided to make…

Uptown Girl

This post is so late!  I was last in New York at the beginning of August.  At the time I didn’t realize it was the last time I would be going to visit David as his project ended shortly after.  I honestly miss visiting so much and wish we were going to be there for the fall and winter, since I’ve only seen NYC in spring and summer and would love to walk through Central Park with the orange leaves, or with the bow bridge covered in snow!  I spent the majority of my time alone on this trip as…

Thanksgiving’s Coming on the 4th of July

This year my nation celebrated it’s 150th year (yes, Canada is a baby).  Since January we have been celebrating this milestone.  Our birthday falls on July 1st, so I actually ended up spending this monumental anniversary south of the border in NYC for 4th of July, while last year I was in Boston for Canada Day.  David recently moved from Brooklyn to Manhattan and we got to watch the fireworks and get a view of the Empire State Building (lit up for 4th of July in red, white & blue and on Canada Day in red & white) from his…

Bright Lights, Long Nights

At the risk of making a few enemies, I have long considered New York City overrated.  Not to say that I didn’t appreciate the city, but have always thought it garnered more attention than it deserved, considering all the amazing and beautiful places I have seen (& those I have yet to see).  Despite this, I find myself falling more and more in love with this city with each visit.  Each time I come back I feel more at home and more comfortable navigating the subway and different neighbourhoods.  I’m finally beginning to see through the rose-coloured glasses of the…
