Thrifting in The Mission

If you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair What I Wore: Flower Crown: H&M Sunglasses: Chanel Top: Free People Necklace: Vintage Purse:H&M Bracelet: Aeropostale Bandeau: Free People Jeans: Second Yoga Being a huge fan of different historical periods and vintage clothes I had to schedule in some thrift store shopping in California.  I figured that San Francisco being such a cultured and artistic city I would find some novel and unique pieces there. The first thrift store we went to was Eco Thrift about forty-five minutes south of Oakland in the Bay Area. I was very excited for…

Berkeley & Trader Joe’s

On our final day at the Yoga retreat we were fed another gorgeous homegrown vegetarian meal and were sent on our way with these fruits which we picked straight out of the garden. I had never had white raspberries (though I prefer the red ones) and thoroughly enjoyed the novelty of eating a peach I picked myself out of a tree. It is a fairly uneventful drive from North San Juan down to Berkeley.  We drove with the roof down though and I got a nasty sun burn as I couldn’t feel the heat due to the cool wind. I’ve always…

Pleasant Valley Sanctuary Meditation Retreat

What I Wore: Sunglasses: Chanel Top: Vintage Shorts: Top Shop Sandals: Birkenstocks Our first night in California was spent at Pleasant Valley Sancutary, a yoga and meditation retreat in North San Juan.  We stayed in this yurt in the forest, where I watched some dear in the morning while I was reading. What I Wore: Purse: H&M I can’t recall what tree this came from, but these giant pine cones would make fantastic Christmas decorations, no? Under this tent is where we did yoga once a day.  It was incredibly hot there in the middle of July, even though we…

This is the Zodiac Speaking

This past July I traveled to California.  California is a place I’ve always wanted to visit.  I had no trouble planning this trip as there were so many places I knew I wanted to go.   Due to high taxes on airfare in Canada, it is much cheaper for Canadians to cross the border and fly within America.  From Toronto there is a bus which goes directly to the Buffalo airport, with a one way ticket costing less than $20.  It is a pretty easy ride and they are very efficient at the border.  From Buffalo we flew to San Francisco with a layover in Minneapolis-St. Paul.  MSP has…

A Taste of Boston

Our final day was spent primarily in the car, as it’s approximately a ten hour drive from Rockport, home.  Although it took a bit longer as we caught bad traffic nearly every day unfortunately, likely due to Columbus Day & Thanksgiving.  It took over an hour just to cross the Niagra-Buffalo border. I wanted to get a few more shots of the Rockport harbour at dawn before we left, so I rose early enough to catch the sunrise.  The experience was made all the more authentic as I bore witness to a few fisherman preparing for their day out to…
